However, there are differences between the two. On the one hand, the B-SME and B-SCT series rectangular multi-contact connectors<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>are mounted in very robust aluminium housings, which guarantee high strength due in part to the clamping closure<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>And, on the other hand,<em><span>\u00a0<\/span>2, 3, 5 and 8-pin modules can be stacked<\/em>. As far as stacking is concerned, the modules are inserted in the appropriate frame. The section of the contacts is defined according to the number of elements included in each of the monoblocks; they can be 2, 3, 5, 8 with a nominal current per contact of 7.5 A to 25 A.<\/p>\n<p><span>Coaxial<\/span>: Those contacts that are<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>supplied in blocks of a total of two connectors<\/strong>, which can be male or female, and of 50 \u03a9 or 75 \u03a9 are known as such. The connectors can be assembled and disassembled relatively easily inside the monoblock module using the extraction tool.<\/p>\n<p><span>Fiber optics<\/span>: The connectors are<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>supplied in blocks of 2, 3 and 5 devices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span>Compressed air and vacuum<\/span>: And finally, these connectors are<strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>presented in blocks of 2<\/strong>. They can be male, female or a mixture of the two, for tubes of 4 in diameter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Characteristics<\/h4>\n<p>The modules of the rectangular multicontact connectors are made of a<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thermosetting_polymer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">thermoset material<\/a>, so that they<strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>are able to withstand extreme temperatures without any problem<\/strong>;<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>between -40\u00baC and +120\u00baC<\/em>. The only exception is the 8-pin module, which is manufactured in<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thermoplastic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">thermoplastic<\/a>, so that its range is noticeably smaller; it can withstand temperatures<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>between -55\u00baC and +90\u00baC<\/em>. In both cases,<span>\u00a0<\/span><span>the impact resistance is very high<\/span>. One of the main features is that the central electrical contacts are made of gold-plated brass.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the manufacturing system of the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>B-SME and B-SCT series rectangular multi-contact connectors<\/strong>, it is very wide and includes a large selection of processes and systems; in addition to the two existing sizes, it includes paper passes, as well as straight and angled ones, which can be short or long.
